Anybody still here?
August 19th, 2007I don’t know whether anyone is still reading this -along, but if so, I’m working on my Poppy and have a progress picture.
Some more pictures and details are on my blog.

I’ve got a little problem with my Poppy, and I’m hoping that all you knitting experts might have some advice.
Can you see what’s wrong here?

Aha! The sleeve and the armhole are two completely different sizes!!!
Now, I have to tell you that the sleeve fits me perfectly. I don’t think there’s anything wrong with how I made it.
So what do I do?
I could rip back the top of the sweater by a few rows. But if I rip back too much, I’ll end up with a belly sweater - which at my end-of-semester weight will not look pretty. (Not that this sweater will be getting much wear until at least September anyhow, but you know…)
Do you have any advice? Have any of you run into a similar problem? Help!!!

This is the first time for me ever to participate in a knit-along! I’ve been reading blogs for nearly two years now and always wanted to have my own, but as I am a slow knitter I don’t finish enough projects to keep the interest of potential readers I think. So I thought a knit-along might be a nice start to the online knitting community.
I got my yarn (finally: shipping took 6 weeks from Canada to Germany…) and am ready to start! Well, actually there are some other UFOs I should finish first but I’m afraid I can’t resist these colours and the texture - never knitted with Noro before.
When it came to the gauge, however, I had to go down two needle sizes. Do others have any experiences with this?

Well, I’ve finally started my Poppy. I’m usually one for following a pattern by the book, so this has been a bit freeing for me; those stripy bits were addictive! This sweater is just flying along.
I have no idea why I have so much trouble with the pictures, but the one I’m trying to link to is here.
Oh dear. I haven’t been blogging my progress on Poppy here but she’s all done now.

You can see all the posts on making her here.
The body of Poppy is done and most of sleeve one. It will be a good project to finish up in April for Project Spectrum. Visit my Poppy at
